I have family in Japan, so when I heard the news I was concerned for their safety.  Then when I saw the video footage, I was shocked into what had happened.  It was surreal seeing the wall of water that smashed the coast line in Japan.

After the Christchurch and Japan earthquakes, my family and friends are safe.
