Plugin: IMM-Glossary 3.0

An updated, working and new featured IMM-Glossary Plugin for WordPress.

I really like the IMM-Glossary plugin.  I found it doing searches on the net.  It is not listed on http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/ which is a shame.   There are a number of forum threads about it and problems had though, and now I hope I have provided an answer to those here.

I have tried to contact the authors using their site but I have received no reply.  I respect their work and credit is theirs for building the plugin.  All I have done is fix the install bug and add new features.

I hope you enjoy this unofficial release of the plugin.

    Hello James.
Thanks for your job. The plugin works fine, now.

A question : is it possible to insert images into the definitions ?

And an other :-) : when the words are plural, the word is not highlighted : for example, if I have a “Dog” definition, it works with “Dog”, but not with “Dogs”.

    Thanks.

      Hello Joupi,

Thank you for your comment and ideas.
      HTML
I use html in my definitions at the moment, and yes I have been able to have images too. I will look into using the WP text editor to make adding HTML easier to the definitions.
      Plural
Great idea, I will look into making this happen and add a feature to be able to turn it on and off.
Keep an eye out for these updates.

James, thanks for the Quantcast plugin for WordPress. It’s not currently listed as compatible with the latest WordPress release. Should there be any problems using it?

    • James says:

      Hello JZhu,

Thank you for your comment. Just so you know you have commented on the Glossay post about the Quantcast plugin, in future I would recommend commenting on the Quantcast post or page.

To answer your question though, it does appear Quantcast Quantifier is working with the latest version of WordPress. If you find any issues please let me know.

      Thanks,
      =-)

Hi James, thanks you so much for this great job, i ve just put in on our blog , and it seems to work quite well !

So thank you ! Naturally i have a few questions too ;-) :

do you know if we can change the title “IMM-Glossary” and put another name ? (acually i m not a webmaster or developper…) and, do you know if the created pages of IMM Glossary are “findable” on Google ? So that it could be a good SEO Tool ?

Thanks in advance, and have a nice day ! Cédric

      G’day Cedric,

      Thank you for your comments.

If I understand your question correctly, yes, you can rename the default page. For example, my default IMM-Glossary page is http://example.org/glossary/ and I can edit that under pages in the menu. As the glossary page is it’s own page, then yes, SEO will work on the page, so if you edit the settings and content of the page it will be indexed by search engines.

But for individual glossary terms, I do not think they will be indexed. I’m not 100% sure, they do have a “permalink” structure on the blog I’m using it on. I could look at setting up the default page glossary terms to also link to the individual terms via anchors and also their own page. I will add that to the future feature list.

      Thanks,
      =-)
