Good Times In The Snow

Back in June 2007 we had an awesome dump of snow one weekend. We decided to mission up to Lake Rotoiti to check it out. We packed old “Rock Hopper” snowboards and a tow rope then hit the road.

There was a fantastic amount on snow at the lake car park but unfortunately it filled up pretty quick with city folk wanting to see the snow. We then missioned out of town a little to find a nice long straight road with plenty of snow on the verge.

After our muscles were burning with satisfaction we decided it was time to leave the magic wonderland and head home.

High Spirits

While I have been recovering from my elbow operation I have had some time to sit down and go over the rest of the photos for this month. The sad thing is that there have also been less opportunities to go out and take photos :-(

I will have a great scare from the operation. I will add photos and a video after the butterfly stitches come off so you can have a great view.

Free Rice

I was reading my brothers blog and thought that this was a very cool idea.

Funny the things you notice

So we were on our way back from a swim up the river and R pointed out that Kees looked a lot like the X-men character Wolverine.

I turned and to my amazement sure enough I saw a blonde Wolverine staring back at me. Being a photo-holic I had to take a picture so I could do some more serious research.

With those blonde sideburns of manliness there was a strong resemblance to his perhaps true father.

Personally the similarities are to strong to ignore.

Mini Rafter

Some more photos from Jan. Mainly our trip along the Buller River. R, Teece and I had a great time, the plan was to do lots of paddling but the water flow was low. We then managed to put a hole in the raft too. We had a great time though and made it to Westport and did a spot of caving the next day. We have been talking about the cave from the first time we found it so now was a great time.

On the way home we stopped in at Quinney’s Bush and enjoyed the awesome water slide!

Swimming Gear

Photos from 1 Jan 2008. Fun in the sun and plenty of water. I have plenty more to go through for Jan. Lots of Good Times ;-)

Today is also the day of surgery for me. Last week I managed to break my elbow or my left radial head for those more anatomically informed. We managed to capture the breaking event on video so we will put one up after we have edited it. At least it wasn’t all in vain ;-)

See you on the flip side!

The Biggest Bonfire
I had a few photos to go through from New Year but only selected a few. Today I only had to add photos from New Year Eve to complete 2007. We had a great time playing hacky sack and later in the small surf at the beach. That evening we had a few drinks and enjoyed the biggest bonfire on the beach. With some lite entertainment from Kees we all welcomed in 2008.

As usual last year went way to fast. Working on making the most of every day as one should. 2008 is going to just as fast and I have my 2 cameras in hand to capture the Good Times!

Queen Street Skate

Gravity is our friend! Just a small video from Christmas Eve where Kees, R and I were making the most of the asphalt down Queen Street. No awesome tricks, just some casual bombing courtesy of gravity.

There are a few photos too.

December Photos 2007

Summer Christmas in the pool

Plenty more photos for December are up, everything bar New Years Eve. We spent Christmas in the pool and eating lots of great food.

Then afterwards we went to Golden Bay and as a stroke of coincidence many friends happened to receive a batch to use at the same bay. We had an awesome time, fishing, snorkelling, scalloping, sea-biscuiting, digging holes and I’m sure we did plenty of other fun stuff.
